Project Description
After purchasing one of the most dilapidated houses near Paddingtons prized Five Ways town centre, Kristie engaged bespoke architect Llewela Griffiths Architects (LGA) to completely revitalise, restore and modernise this character home.
Understanding the complex nature of working with heritage constraints as well as unforeseen items symptomatic of these type of builds, LGA recommended working with trusted partner, Jensen Projects. This ensured a high degree of transparency, capability and strong problem solving which were essential to the success of the project.
Key Challenges
- Supporting existing heritage chimney throughout demolition, excavation and construction works.
- Construct compliant fire rated walls with minimal wall thickness to increase floor area in a thin terrace site.
- Remediation works to the old terrace including rising damp, roof leaks and rotten structure.
