After having relocated from Singapore, Matthew and Josephine purchased this property with an under-utilised subfloor as well as an existing dated kitchen and bathrooms. Wanting to maximise the potential floorspace for greater enjoyment of the home with their maturing adolescents they approached Jensen for a solution.
Jensen developed a floorplan that utilised the subfloor adding approximately 115sqm of habitable space which includes a new bedroom with ensuite, separate laundry, wine cellar, gym and media room. Jensen also celebrated the existing beachy heritage of the home whilst perfectly blending new character styling to the bathrooms and kitchen.
Jensen worked tirelessly to deliver the project in a 6 month timeframe to ensure minimal disruption as Matthew and Josephine’s oldest child headed into their HSC year.
- Developed a subfloor drainage and ventilation system with easy serviceability to ensure a dry and well ventilated subterranean habitable space.
- Overcame onerous Class 2 building constraints with a well coordinated and registered consultant team.
- Maximised natural light whilst adhering to fire compliance regulations with tested glazing systems such as fire-rated glass bricks and windows.
